Accountant (U.S.) – Houston, TX

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant (U.S.) to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure a timely, accurate U.S. GAAP month-end close. This role will work across general ledger, AP/AR, reporting, audits, and tax compliance, while contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Support the month-end close process, including journal entries (accruals, prepaids/deferrals), balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and close checklists

• Maintain the general ledger and assist with U.S. GAAP financial statements

• Support management reporting and variance analysis in collaboration with FP&A

• Assist with AP/AR operations, including:

  • 3-way match and invoice coding

  • Payment runs and cash application

  • Collections and customer billing

  • Vendor onboarding (W-9)

• Support revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and fixed assets (capitalization, depreciation, roll-forwards)

• Assist with tax and compliance activities:

  • Multi-state sales & use tax filings

  • Payroll tax packages (941, 940, state/local)

  • Year-end 1099-NEC / 1096

• Help document and strengthen internal controls (SOX-lite), policies, and PBC lists

• Support internal and external audits

• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and standardization within ERP systems and spreadsheets

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2–5+ years of hands-on U.S. accounting experience

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with familiarity in ASC 606 and ASC 842

• Experience working with an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or QuickBooks Online)

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)

• Understanding of multi-state sales/use tax and basic payroll tax concepts

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines

• Clear written and verbal communication skills
